Taking care of the caretakers

What a wild time this has been! Sew Sweet Angel Gowns has temporarily shifted its focus to take care of the caretakers. A little over 2 weeks ago, after much research and feedback, Yvonne suggested we make cloth face masks for health care workers to prolong the usage of their hospital approved mask. We learned that many health care providers were given only one mask per day or week, at that time.. So we put out a call on our Facebook page and local community groups, for fabric, seamstresses and cutters. We had the Sew Sweet model, we simply changed products from angel gowns to masks. Formal Fashions Inc, a local family owned and operated corporation that produces performers attire for musicians and choirs wanted to collaborate and help us with our mission. To provide free masks to health care providers. After two weeks we had created and distributed over 2000 masks to health care providers all around the valley.

We then received a call from Dr Brady, an OB-GYN physician, ( who had received our masks for his team), to create a more protective mask, out of a material that was provided by the hospital. So once again, we shifted focus and performed research for the best styles and materials to supplement. We have delivered over 150 masks in just a few days, and continue to produce these masks to be distributed by the hospital. This undertaking could only be possible with the help and support of so many talented and generous people. We would love to hug all of you!! Maybe when social distancing is a thing of the past.. for now, we will continue to care for the caretakers.

Our mission to provide comfort to grieving families continues also, we have shipped angel gowns to Colorado and Tucson hospitals this week. We are ready with gowns when the need arises.

We pray for health care workers, their families and everyone affected by this virus. May you feel God's peace during this time.

Stay healthy my friends and find a way to give back to your community.

Sew Sweet By the Numbers

Many of you are fascinated with the amount of angel gowns we create from each dress, that number varies, due to size of dress, seams and even where the beadwork is. On average we create about 10 angel
