Our Mission Statement
Sew Sweet Angel Gowns is a 501c3 organization that provides comfort to grieving families. These families are affected by the loss of a stillborn child, or a little one that doesn’t make it home. We put God’s love into action by creating Angel Gowns made from donated wedding dresses. They are assembled with love from a volunteer workforce, providing them with an opportunity to serve. The gowns are sewn and prayed upon to provide families a small amount of peace in an otherwise overwhelming circumstance.
The Creation of Sew Sweet Angel Gowns
We are three women who love our families. But love the Lord more....We had the opportunity to start this company to create infant bereavement gowns and would let the Lord lead us. We have been overwhelmed by all the dress donations and many hands that are now part of our crew. To become a non profit, we needed to expand our leadership team and now there are five of us.
It all started in Fall of 2017, Joann and Debbie were chatting over coffee and Joann was sharing that she did "this" in Michigan. Debbie said, we can do that here in Ahwatukee, but we needed a skilled seamstress, so we excitedly invited Yvonne to join us. A cute facebook post brought more dresses, followed by a wonderful article in the local paper. Then a couple local TV new shows wanted to do a story about Sew Sweet Angel Gowns. We soon grew to a working board of directors with a phenomenal crew of volunteers that helped with our vision. We currently distribute angel gowns around the country, and any place that has a need. It truly is our pleasure to provide a little comfort to grieving families.
